what we do

Experiential Learning Programs

Our programs immerse participants in regions deeply affected by conflict, offering firsthand experiences that foster critical engagement and transformative learning. Participants engage with a diverse range of voices, including academics, activists, former combatants, and survivors, to develop a well-rounded perspective on conflict resolution and reconciliation efforts.

CIEL’s educational model integrate three key components:

  • Pre-Trip Education: Participants engage in structured learning, including history, politics, and conflict resolution workshops, to develop a solid foundation before travel.

  • Immersive Field Experiences: Study trips involve meetings with policymakers, community activists, former combatants, and civilians, fostering nuanced perspectives and critical analysis.

  • Post-Trip Engagement: Participants apply their experiences through research, policy discussions, and leadership initiatives, ensuring long-term impact.
