Northern Ireland, a region marked by centuries of armed conflict, culminating in the Troubles, took a profound turn with the Good Friday Peace Agreement of 1998. It serves as a classroom for understanding ethnonational conflict, peacebuilding, and post conflict reconciliation and justice.

The region's journey to peace, propelled by economic development, the critical roles of diaspora, regional governments and women in the peace process, and the transformative power of civil society in healing and reconciliation, makes it an essential study for those interested in conflict resolution and divided societies.

The itinerary includes a preparatory online course that covers the historical, cultural, and political context of the region. Through visits to key historical sites and interactions with various stakeholders  in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland participants will study the urban centers and its divisions in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry and Dublin as well as visit the border regions and the beautiful Antrim coast. The group will meet with former combatants, victim groups, politicians, peace-builders and faith leaders, to gain firsthand learnings from the complexities of post-conflict justice and the ongoing process of building a shared future.
