CIEL as a Study Abroad Provider for organizations and private groups

Organizations and private groups can utilize CIEL’s extensive background in developing and facilitating international immersive travel experiences in conflict-affected regions through three partnership offerings: 1) predesigned CIEL travel programs in one of our regions of expertise  2) consulting and logistical support for existing or planned travel programs your organization is undertaking  3) development and facilitation of new immersive travel programs customized to your group’s needs and interest areas. 

CIEL works with a wide variety of organizations, from interfaith groups to artistic collaborations  and storytellers. Whatever the unique lens might be, CIEL is open to working with any mission adjacent group. For information about whether your organization or group qualifies, please contact us. 

As a study abroad provider, CIEL’s ‘turn-key‘ education travel offerings for university partners includes:

• A comprehensive program, inclusive of:

  • Support for coordination of international travel logistics including COVID protocols and visa requirements  

  • local transportation, logistics and security 

  • Meals, accommodations and authentic cultural experiences 

  • Exclusive access to high-level speakers, local guides, experts and translators

• Access to CIEL’s Digital Learning Platform 

  • Extensive pre-travel integrated education platform featuring carefully tailored curriculum delivered through online asynchronous learning modules 

  • Learning modules cover conflict dynamics in divided societies, region specific historical and present day context involving interdisciplinary education on political, economic, religious, cultural and social dynamics, conflict resolution theory and ‘lessons learned’ 

  • Training in in effective experiential learning skills, active listening, student diplomacy, self-care and best practices in how to constructively hold difficult conversations across divides

  • Learning facilitated by travel leaders who are leading experts and practitioners with years of experience guiding groups in conflict-affected regions and are familiar with local customs, culture and language.

Consultancy and Logistical Support for Pre-existing Travel Programs 

Mission adjacent organizations or groups who facilitate their own travel programs to conflict-affected regions are invited to take advantage of our expertise in the field. As a partnering consultant, CIEL can provide tailored academic guidance for program development as well as on-the-ground logistical support, programmatic support, facilitation and access to our broad network of high-level speakers. 

Development and Facilitation of Customized Immersive Travel Programs

With over a decade of experience developing and facilitating immersive travel programs around the world, we know the power and the impact of our educational model and its broad ranging applicability. For that reason, CIEL is happy to partner with organizations who are interested in collaboratively designing new customized CIEL travel programs that are catered to the desired experiences and learning outcomes of a specific group. This can include geographic or subject area emphases within a conflict-affected region (ie religion, civil society, borders and migration, policing, storytelling etc.) 

These programs can benefit from the same travel components included in CIEL’s predesigned programs.  All travel participants are invited to join a unique life-long society of CIEL participants.
